You most often see them in black. You occasionally see them in white or mint green. But this one is the very-seldom-seen Tan Singer Featherweight, made in St. Johns Canada.

The Tan Singer Featherweights were made starting in 1961, and there were only 10,000 or so of them made. Only about 2,000 were made in St. Johns, Canada. Yes this 221J is the rarest model of the Featherweights.

For your consideration, the serial number of the Tan Singer Featherweight offered is JE150043. This machine was well taken care of and appears to have been used very little. The paint is in excellent condition with only a few small scuffs at the hand wheel and near the front hinge at the extension table (see photos). The tan Featherweights did not come with decals.

Foot pedal and the cord are in good condition with no deterioration; minor indentations on the cord, although it does not affect the machines operation (see photos).
Motor is marked 110-120V, and St. Johns, Canada and it is in fine shape.
Machine has been cleaned, oiled and thoroughly checked by a Singer factory-trained professional and is ready to sew. It has a new motor belt.
Original manual is missing, although a standard 221 manual is included.
All original attachments and box are included, and 6 bobbins. Also included is a package of vintage Singer sewing machine needles, a Singer sewing gauge, and a Singer mirror.
Matching case for this machine is sturdy and in good overall condition with minor edge scuffs and a few wear spots on the exterior. The cases for the 221J were made of wood (not fiberboard) so they are more durable than most other Featherweight cases. The hinges, latches and handle are in good shape.
